OpenAI has reported that users of ChatGPT send over 2.5 billion queries daily worldwide, with more than 330 million coming from the United States. Overall, the platform's weekly audience exceeds 500 million active users, as noted by Axios.
These impressive figures were released ahead of CEO Sam Altman's speech at the Federal Reserve conference in Washington, where he will present a new economic analysis prepared by the company's chief economist and share his thoughts on the "democratization" of artificial intelligence, which means evenly distributing economic benefits among the population.
Altman will propose a "third way" between proponents of rapid AI development and those who fear its potential consequences. OpenAI aims to prevent concentrated power over AI development in the hands of large corporations and to ensure access to technology for the general public.
U.S. President Donald Trump will also speak at the Winning the AI Race summit, where the White House will unveil its own 20-page action plan focused on a liberal and growth-oriented approach to AI development.
OpenAI believes that the key question is not whether AI will drive economic growth, but who will benefit from it. The company insists that the key to equitable distribution is making AI tools accessible to as many people as possible.
Furthermore, OpenAI continues to enhance ChatGPT and recently launched ChatGPT Agent, an AI agent capable of operating a computer on behalf of the user.
