Meta Unveils New Smart Glasses in Collaboration with Oakley

Meta has announced the introduction of innovative new smart glasses created in collaboration with Oakley. The limited edition Oakley Meta HSTN will retail for $499 and is available for pre-order starting July 11, 2025. Other Oakley models will be available this summer starting at $399.

Similar to the Meta Ray-Ban, these glasses feature a built-in front camera, microphones, and open-type speakers. When connected to a smartphone, they enable users to listen to music or podcasts, make calls, and interact with Meta AI. Thanks to its camera and microphones, Meta AI can provide answers about the environment and translate text.

The new model is primarily designed for athletes. The glasses are moisture-resistant to IPX4 standards and can function for up to 8 hours without needing a recharge—double the time of the Meta Ray-Ban. With the charging case, the battery life extends to 48 hours. The camera now supports recording in 3K resolution, compared to 1080p in Ray-Ban.

The series is available in five variants, and all models can be ordered with prescription lenses for an additional fee. Frame colors include gray, black, brown smoky, and clear, with multiple lens options available, including photochromic lenses.

The limited edition priced at $499 will feature gold elements and Oakley PRIZM lenses. Sales will commence in the USA, Canada, the UK, Ireland, France, Italy, Spain, Austria, Belgium, Australia, Germany, Sweden, Norway, Finland, and Denmark.

Additionally, Meta recently signed a multi-year contract with EssilorLuxottica, the parent company of Ray-Ban and Oakley. They have already sold over two million pairs of Meta Ray-Ban and aim to sell 10 million smart glasses annually by 2026.
