The Ukraine futsal team has secured its place in the Euro 2026 championship, as Romania lost to Germany in the 5th round of qualification.
The match ended with a score of 2:1 in favor of the Germans. Thus, with one round remaining in the qualifiers, Ukraine confidently holds the top spot in Group 1, leading the closest competitor by 6 points. In their 5th round match, the Ukrainians overwhelmed the Cyprus national team, scoring 11 goals against them. Earlier, our team also achieved an impressive victory over Germany with a score of 9:0. Prior to that, there were demolitions against Cyprus (7:0), victories over Romania (2:0), and the Germans (5:3) away.
The last qualifying match for Alexander Kosenko's squad will take place on April 15 against Romania. Ahead of this, the coaching staff of the "yellow-blue" team called up fifteen players, including debutant Yuriy Sahaydachny.
The Euro Championship will be hosted by Lithuania and Latvia from January 20 to February 7, 2026. This will be the second futsal Euro with the participation of 16 teams.
