Ukrainian athlete Oksana Livach has secured the gold medal in the finals of the European Wrestling Championship in the 50 kg weight category.
In the decisive match, Livach triumphed over five-time European medalist Evine Demirhan from Turkey, winning with a score of 8:0.
It is important to note that in the semifinals, the Ukrainian defeated the 'neutral Russian' Nadezhda Sokolova with a score of 2:1, and prior to that, she easily overcame French wrestler Emma Lutenhauser with a score of 7:0.
This marks Livach's second European Championship title, her first being in 2019. Overall, this was her fourth final at the European level.
Additionally, this is the second medal for Ukraine at this tournament. Just a day earlier, Andriy Dzelep claimed bronze in the 61 kg category.
The European Championship commenced on April 7. Throughout the week, representatives from freestyle, Greco-Roman, and women's wrestling will compete for 30 medals across ten weight categories.
