Oleksandr Usyk, the absolute world champion in heavyweight boxing, has emerged as the most popular boxer on BoxRec. This news comes from BoxRec.
In the ranking of boxers with the highest number of followers, the 38-year-old Ukrainian has outperformed former two-time absolute champion in super middleweight, Saul Alvarez.
Usyk boasts 7,734 followers on BoxRec, while Canelo has 6,912 fans. In eighth place is Vasyl Lomachenko (4,180), who announced his retirement from boxing in June this year.
The Top-10 also includes two former opponents of Usyk: Tyson Fury ranked seventh (4,199), while Anthony Joshua closes the list of the most popular boxers on BoxRec with 3,976 followers.
It is worth noting that Oleksandr Usyk's team is already negotiating with Fabio Wardley's representatives regarding a title fight for the WBO championship.
Earlier, it was revealed who could replace Usyk in the match against Wardley if the parties fail to agree on a title bout in the ring.
