Renowned Ukrainian tennis player Elina Svitolina has been awarded the "Heart Award" for her contributions to the Ukrainian team in the Billie Jean King Cup. This was reported by the official tournament website.
The "Heart Award" is given to female tennis players who represent their countries with pride, show remarkable courage on the court, and demonstrate outstanding commitment to their team during the Billie Jean King Cup.
During the September final round of the BKDC, Svitolina first defeated Spain's Paula Badosa in the quarter-finals, but unfortunately lost to Italy's Jasmine Paolini in the semi-finals.
Following a fan voting process, Elina outperformed Paolini, her compatriot Elisabetta Cocciaretto, and American Jessica Pegula.
The prize money of $10,000 has been donated by Svitolina to her Svitolina Foundation, which supports young tennis players in Ukraine.
