After a lengthy period of restrictions due to the full-scale invasion, the yacht club has finally been granted permission to host competitions on the Dnipro.
On October 18, thrilling races of the 2.4mR class took place at the Kyiv City Cruiser Yacht Club for the 2025 season. Participants included defenders who have been undergoing sailing training since the beginning of the year.
The 2.4mR class is specially designed to allow individuals with disabilities to compete on equal terms.
“These races have become a significant event — for the first time, participants have set sail on open water. After the ban on accessing the Dnipro, this season the yacht club received permission to hold races, allowing participants to once again experience the true freedom of the river. The expanded water area and new conditions only heightened the excitement, determination, and confidence of the trainees,” shared impressions at the Kyiv City Cruiser Yacht Club.
Maxim Artemonenko took first place, Artem Dudchenko secured second, and Olesya Kotlyarova came in third.
The practical part of the course will continue until the end of October.
