Tragic Loss: Pavel Ishchenko Dies on the Frontline

Pavel Ishchenko, a four-time champion of Ukraine in strongman competitions and a record holder, has died on the frontline. This was reported by Sport.ua.
“The sports community has received another tragic news from the front. During a combat mission in the war against the Russians, four-time Ukrainian strongman champion and record holder Pavel Ishchenko was killed,” the statement reads.
It is noted that the athlete hails from Hostomel, Kyiv region. Before becoming a strongman, Pavel was a world and European champion and a multiple Ukrainian champion in powerlifting.
Ishchenko combined his competitive career with coaching. He became the strongest in Ukraine in strongman competitions during the full-scale war – in 2022, 2023, 2024, and 2025.
