Ukraine's Goalball Team Triumphs at International Tournament

The men's goalball team of Ukraine has claimed victory at the international tournament held in Vilnius, Lithuania.

Germany secured the second place, while Lithuania-1 took home the bronze medals.

In the group stage, played in a round-robin format, the Ukrainians suffered only one defeat to the Great Britain team with a score of 2:7, followed by four consecutive wins against: Lithuania-1 — 10:3, Finland — 13:3, Lithuania-2 — 14:9, and Germany — 13:6.

In the semifinals, the Ukrainian team triumphed over Lithuania-2 with a score of 12:2.

The final match against Germany ended with a score of 5:4 in favor of Ukraine. The decisive fifth goal was scored by Vasyl Oliinyk just 8 seconds before the final whistle.

The champions of the tournament included: Vasyl Oliinyk, Anton Strelychyk, Yevhen Tsiganskyi, Rodion Zhihalin, Fedor Sydorenko, and Oleksandr Toporkov.

Anton Strelychyk received a special award as the tournament's best defender.
