Impressive Performance of Ukraine's Team at the 2025 World Games

The final competition day of the XII World Games 2025 has concluded in Chengdu, China.

The Ukrainian national team achieved a remarkable third place in the overall standings of these multi-sport events, where top athletes competed in disciplines not included in the Olympic program, as reported by Ukrinform.

Ukrainians earned a total of 44 medals (16 gold, 14 silver, and 14 bronze). The highest number of medals for Ukraine came from powerlifting - 10 (2 gold, 5 silver, 3 bronze), followed by combat sambo - 6 (4, 0, 2) and kickboxing - 4 (2, 0, 2).

This marks the second consecutive time our team has finished third at the World Games, having first achieved this in 2022 at the Birmingham (USA) competitions.

China topped the overall medal tally with 64 medals (36, 17, 1), while Germany secured the second place with 45 medals (17, 14, 14).

The top five countries also included Italy with 57 medals (13, 25, 19) and France with 38 medals (11, 11, 16).

In total, more than 4000 athletes from 115 countries competed for victory in 34 sports at the 2025 World Games, marking the largest number of nations in the history of these competitions. For the first time, teams from Armenia, Benin, the Bermuda Islands, Cameroon, Guinea, Kenya, and Myanmar joined the community.

Ninety-nine Ukrainian athletes competed in 20 sports, including: combat sambo, water skiing, billiards, dragon boat racing, jiu-jitsu, WAKO kickboxing, powerlifting, underwater sports, squash, sports aerobics, sports acrobatics, orienteering, Muay Thai, dance sports, wushu, cheerleading, breaking, climbing, karate, and trampoline jumps.
