Legendary Ukrainian footballer Andriy Yarmolenko has announced that he will retire after the 2025/26 season.

He shared this news during an interview on the YouTube channel "Football News Center".

"After discussing with the head coach and the club president, I felt it was crucial to hear that I am still valued as a player. I have no desire to remain in the club based on my past achievements. Upon hearing the support from the coach and president, I realized they count on me as a crucial player. Hence, I signed a contract for another year. Will this be my last contract? I can confidently say that this is my final year as a footballer," Yarmolenko stated.

Yarmolenko is a product of Chernihiv football. He played 393 matches for Dynamo, scoring 157 goals, making him the third-highest scorer in the club's history. Only Serhiy Rebrov (163 goals) and Oleg Blokhin (265) are ahead of him. He has also played abroad for Borussia Dortmund, Al Ain, and West Ham.

Moreover, he is a legend of the Ukrainian national team. With 125 appearances and 46 goals, he ranks second in history. If we exclude traitor Anatoliy Tymoshchuk, Yarmolenko has played the most matches for the national team.
