Yaroslava Mahuchikh has once again found herself on the podium, securing a silver medal at the Diamond League stage.
Two Ukrainian athletes participated in the Paris event – Yuliya Levchenko and Yaroslava Mahuchikh.
The main competitors for the Ukrainians were Australian athletes Nicola Olyslaegers and Eleanor Patterson, who recently claimed medals at the indoor world championship.
Yuliya Levchenko was the first of the Ukrainians to compete. She cleared 1.83 m on her first attempt but failed at 1.88 m.
Levchenko opted to skip to 1.91 m, but was unable to clear that height in two attempts, finishing in 11th place.
Yaroslava Mahuchikh confidently cleared 1.91 m, but faced difficulties later: she failed to clear 1.94 m in her first two attempts but succeeded at 1.97 m on her last try. Both Australian competitors also cleared that height.
Only Mahuchikh and the Australians reached the 2 m mark. Patterson and the Ukrainian failed at that height, while Olyslaegers successfully cleared it on her second attempt.
Thus, Olyslaegers took first place, Mahuchikh secured the second position again, and Patterson finished third.
