The Ukrainian volleyball team showcased an outstanding performance in their match against Cuba during the Nations League, setting a record for blocks over the past four years.

The encounter ended with a victory for the Ukrainians in the tiebreaker. Throughout the match, the Ukrainian players executed 17 blocks, with Yuriy Semeniuk standing out with 5 blocks.

The last time such a result was recorded was during the group stage of the 2021 European Championship against Portugal, where the team achieved 19 blocks.

This is also a record number of blocks under the guidance of Argentine coach Raúl Lozano, who took charge of the team in 2024 (having already conducted 13 matches). The match against Cuba surpassed the record set in the final of the 2024 Golden European League against Croatia (14).
