Elina Svitolina’s impressive performance in the fourth round of Roland Garros against Jasmine Paolini marked a new chapter in her tennis career.

This victory represents Elina's first win at a Grand Slam tournament after overcoming match points. Additionally, Svitolina is now the second player in the last decade to reach the quarter-finals of majors (13), trailing only Serena Williams.

According to statistics from OptaAce, Svitolina managed to fight back from three match points against Jasmine Paolini. This marks her first victory in 150 Grand Slam matches where her opponent was just one point away from success.

Elina first reached the quarter-finals of a major in 2015 at Roland Garros, and since then, she has made it to this stage 13 times in Grand Slam competitions. The only player with more quarter-finals in the last ten years is the legendary Serena Williams with 16.
