The tour featuring the three Golden Balls, awarded to legendary Ukrainian footballers Oleg Blokhin, Igor Belanov, and Andriy Shevchenko, began on May 29 in Lviv.
The trophies will be on display in 11 Ukrainian cities, organized by ROZETKA in celebration of its 20th anniversary.
Schedule and Details of the Golden Ball Exhibition in Ukraine
In Lviv, the exhibition will run until June 1 (from 10:00 AM to 8:00 PM) at Rynok Square, 1, near the Lviv City Hall.
After Lviv, the Golden Balls will travel to Ivano-Frankivsk, Chernivtsi, Vinnytsia, Odesa, Dnipro, Poltava, Kyiv, Zhytomyr, Rivne, and Lutsk.
A charity pop-up shop by ROZETKA will also be available, offering a range of products specifically designed for this project.
These include golden footballs, T-shirts, bottles, and posters with facsimile signatures from the three recipients of this prestigious award.
“All proceeds from the sale will go towards organizing the children’s tournament 'School Ball' by the Ukrainian Football Association,” comments ROZETKA co-founder Vladyslav Chechotkin.
Ukrainian Football Association President Andriy Shevchenko stated that the project's goal is to inspire young Ukrainians to engage in football and show that nothing is impossible.
It is worth noting that in December 2024, a journalist from Kyiv Post attended the grand opening of an installation commemorating the 20th anniversary of Andriy Shevchenko's Golden Ball win.
“Soon it will be 50 years since I received the Golden Ball, the first for Ukraine... I believe that among our children, there is someone who will bring Ukraine a fourth Golden Ball,” says Oleg Blokhin.
“I am glad that all three Golden Balls are together today to support Ukrainians. And I believe: among our youth, there are many talented kids, and the next Golden Ball in Ukraine is just a matter of time,” adds Igor Belanov.
The exhibition schedule for the Golden Balls will be posted on ROZETKA's Instagram page.
Note that in case of an air raid alert, the exhibition will pause operations, and visitors must go to the shelter.
