Oleksandr Bondarev, a pilot from the Ukrainian team Prema Racing, delivered an impressive performance in the second Formula-4 race held in Misano.
The 16-year-old racer, who started from the sixth position, actively fought for fifth place but was unable to finish in that position.
In the end, Bondarev finished sixth overall, becoming the best rookie of the race, which earned him his first podium in Italian Formula-4 and valuable points.
This stage was significant as it marked the first time this year that the Ukrainian national anthem was played in honor of Oleksandr's achievements.
Following a less than successful first race where he finished outside of the points due to technical issues, the Ukrainian climbed to the 11th position in the overall standings and 5th in the rookie standings.
Bondarev's team, Prema Racing, currently leads the Constructors' Cup in Italian Formula-4, ahead of competitors by nearly 100 points – 123 to 47 against the German team US Racing.
The first stage of the Italian Formula-4 takes place at the Marco Simoncelli International Circuit in Misano, with the championship concluding at the Grand Prix scheduled from October 10 to 12. In total, the drivers will face 7 stages and 23 races that will determine the best drivers, constructors, and rookies of the season.
