Young Ukrainian fencer Alina Dmytruk has made it to the semifinals of the cadet world championships taking place in China.
In the quarterfinals, she achieved a remarkable victory over Korean fencer Lee Rae Na, finishing with a score of 15:8, thus securing at least a bronze medal.
In her semifinal match, Alina will face Hong Kong's Wu Haidi, who narrowly defeated another Ukrainian fencer, Valeria Bilous-Hrydiak, with a score of 15:14.
Earlier, the first medal for Ukraine at this championship was won by Maksym Perchuk, who earned a bronze medal.
