On October 18, a run will take place in Kyiv to support prisoners of war.
This event is organized by the Association of Families of Defenders of «Azovstal» alongside a liberated «Azov» fighter known as «Rasta».
The exact number of defenders currently in Russian captivity is unknown, but some have been held for four years.
From May 16 to 20, under the orders of the country's leadership, including President Volodymyr Zelensky, the defenders of Mariupol exited the «Azovstal» plant to save their lives.
According to prior agreements, the fighters were supposed to remain on territory controlled by Russians for four months. However, the enemy has violated all negotiations and continues to detain defenders in captivity without providing any special conditions.
Furthermore, there have been documented cases of torture against Ukrainians, illegal show trials, and baseless charges or no evidence at all.
“This run is not just a sporting event. It is an act of remembrance, support, and gratitude. It is a reminder to the world that our soldiers are still waiting to return home. This is our collective voice for freedom for those who deserve it,” emphasize the organizers of the run.
