Beginning in 2025, the Kyiv City Council held five training sessions focused on first aid. This initiative was led by the Human Resources Department of the Council.
A total of 65 staff members from the Kyiv City Council's secretariat participated in the training. Participants were able to learn essential skills for providing aid in emergency situations, including stopping severe bleeding, proper tourniquet application, wound packing, and ensuring airway patency.
The sessions were conducted by a certified instructor, a paramedic from the National Guard of Ukraine, and the author of the Ukrainian course “Stop the bleed” — Oleksandr Korniichuk (call sign “Biker”).
Special emphasis was placed on practical skills development. Each participant had the opportunity to not only hear about modern first aid techniques but also practice them in simulated crisis scenarios. Upon completion of the training, all attendees received internationally recognized certificates.
