In 2024, 176 individuals defending our country, along with their families and the families of fallen soldiers, received compensation from the Kyiv city budget for medical expenses totaling nearly 4.4 million UAH. This was reported by Marina Honda, the Deputy Chair of the Kyiv City State Administration.

«We are committed to providing each defender, their families, and the families of the fallen with essential social and medical support. Compensation for medical expenses is a crucial step in this direction, as not all needs are covered by the National Health Service. In 2024, this assistance benefited 176 people. Specifically, the city budget covered the production of individualized jaw implants, modeling of orbital plates, and medications for cancer treatment,» she stated.

Marina Honda also noted that compensation applies to expenses incurred during outpatient and inpatient treatment, including joint replacements and hearing aids. «Decisions regarding compensation payments are made by a specially established commission. We are diligently working to ensure that support is provided as quickly and effectively as possible to those in need. Each case is, of course, unique, and the amounts vary. The largest amount was 312,000 UAH, with nearly 4.4 million UAH dispensed overall. Therefore, I encourage everyone to take advantage of this opportunity. It will be available next year as well,» she added.

Compensation is provided for treatment at state, municipal, and departmental healthcare facilities throughout Ukraine.
