In Kyiv, near the Arch of Freedom, a memorial has been unveiled to honor military engineers. This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Facebook.
“This memorial symbolizes the bravery of engineers who pave the way for troops through various challenges. They are always at the forefront,” the General Staff noted.
The monument stands as a testament of respect and gratitude to those who have lost their lives and to those who continue to serve on the front lines.
Military engineering includes not only sappers and pontooners but also fortification specialists and those responsible for technical support and anti-drone measures, emphasized the General Staff.
Government officials, military personnel, clergy, artists, and residents of the capital paid tribute to fallen soldiers with a moment of silence. Military chaplains led a prayer and blessed the memorial.
“May this memorial serve as a reminder of the courage of military engineers for future generations,” the General Staff added.
It is worth noting that in Ukraine, November 3 is celebrated as Engineers' Day, established by the presidential decree on October 27, 1999.
