In the capital of Ukraine, Kyiv, the state flag has been lowered at the parliament building in memory of the late Andriy Parubiy, who served as the Speaker of the Parliament.
This information was shared by the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada, Ruslan Stefanchuk, on his Facebook page.
"The state flag of Ukraine has been lowered on the building of the Verkhovna Rada. This is how we honor the memory of Andriy Parubiy — a man who made significant contributions to the development of parliament, and his tragic death is a great loss for the entire country," noted Stefanchuk.
According to him, the flag will remain lowered for the next three days as a sign of deep respect and mourning.
"The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine expresses heartfelt condolences to the family and loved ones of Andriy Parubiy. His memory will always remain with us," the post stated.
It is worth noting that on August 30, in Lviv, former Speaker of the Parliament Andriy Parubiy was killed as a result of an armed attack. According to the head of the National Police in Lviv region, this murder was carefully planned.
