In the capital, a party took place in one of the clubs on a day of mourning, sparking outrage. Kyiv police launched an investigation after a video surfaced on social media showing the event occurring in the Holosiivskyi district, while the nation mourns 31 victims, including five children.
The authorities promptly arrived at the scene, but the club's doors were locked. The staff refused to open them, so the police conducted a search and found over 30 attendees along with the club's management.
All those present were taken to the local police department, where administrative reports were filed against them under Article 173 of the Code of Administrative Offenses (minor hooliganism) and Article 185 (willful disobedience to lawful police orders). Offenders may face fines or up to 15 days of administrative detention.
A criminal case has been opened regarding the party held during the mourning day under part 1 of Article 296 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine - hooliganism. The preliminary investigation is ongoing.
