Since the beginning of 2025, the Ukrainian Ministry of Defense has provided the Armed Forces with over one million FPV drones.
This was stated by the Minister of Defense of Ukraine, Denys Shmyhal, on his Facebook page.
According to him, to ensure that drones reach the front lines faster and in the required quantities, the Ministry is introducing new methods. In particular, under the Framework Agreement, manufacturers are contracted based on the compliance of drones with technical specifications rather than specific product names.
Shmyhal noted that this approach allows for a wider range of manufacturers to participate in the procurement process, fostering competition and transparency through tenders conducted in the Prozorro system.
Additionally, the digital marketplace DOT-Chain Defence, which allows units to select the drones they need, ensures prompt and targeted delivery to the front. The platform is currently operating in pilot mode for 12 combat brigades.
“Our priority is to develop the most effective mechanisms for supplying frontline soldiers with the necessary drones. According to the assigned tasks, the Defense Procurement Agency is working to increase supply rates so that each unit receives exactly what is needed to accomplish combat missions,” emphasized Shmyhal.
