A woman has died in a Kyiv hospital after being struck by a prosecutor, Andriy Molochny, on Saturday, July 19, on Velyka Vasylkivska Street.
This was reported by Ruslan Kravchenko, the head of the Office of the Attorney General.
Kravchenko stated that the driver was under the influence of alcohol, veered onto the sidewalk, hit the woman, and attempted to flee the scene.
Sadly, the victim passed away in the hospital the following day.
Molochny has been charged with violating traffic rules while intoxicated, resulting in a fatality.
The blood alcohol content was measured at 1.77 ppm, the Attorney General added.
Kravchenko said, "We will insist on a preventive measure of 60 days of detention without the possibility of bail."
"I am personally overseeing this case as the senior prosecutor, starting from the selection of the preventive measure, and will support the prosecution in court."
