Restoration efforts for the sculpture of Muse Melpomene have begun at the Obolon Embankment in Kyiv, initiated by KP ‘Pleso’ in collaboration with the NGO ‘Heritage in Art and Education’.

On July 8, the restoration work commenced, carried out by renowned sculptor Serhii Borodin, aiming to restore the artwork to its original form while enhancing its durability and aesthetic value.

The main objective is to meticulously recreate the original appearance of the sculpture based on archival materials and photographs.

A key focus is on preserving authentic elements with minimal intervention, replacing only those sections that have been lost or irreparably damaged.

All activities are conducted using appropriate technologies that ensure the quality and longevity of the restored elements. After the restoration, a protective coating will be applied to the sculpture to enhance its resistance to environmental impacts and prevent further deterioration.
