Disruptions in Train Services Due to Severe Weather

Severe weather conditions in the Transcarpathian region, as well as in Slovakia and Hungary, have led to significant changes in the schedules of international and domestic passenger trains. Some services are delayed, and passengers arriving from abroad are being transported to Ukraine by backup buses.

This was reported by Ukrzaliznytsia.

The company stated that due to the bad weather, the railway companies in Hungary and Slovakia are forced to delay the following services:

  • №143/750 from Vienna and Budapest;
  • №617/964 from Bratislava.

Passengers from Debrecen (Hungary) and Košice (Slovakia) will be taken to the border by backup buses. After that, they will be picked up by Ukrzaliznytsia train No. 28 at Chop. The timing of delays and further departures will be determined after the buses arrive and in coordination with the dispatchers of the three countries. The company warns that further changes are possible depending on the situation, particularly in Hungary.

Additionally, the inclement weather has damaged the overhead contact line near Barkasovo and Skole. As a result, delays are expected on the following services:

  • №9 Kyiv – Budapest;
  • №82 Chop – Kyiv;
  • №14 Solotvyno – Kyiv;
  • №38 Mukachevo – Odesa;
  • №749 Kyiv – Chop (with through carriages to Vienna).

"We traditionally collect all deviations from the schedule on the uz-vezemo portal. We apologize for any inconvenience and are committed to ensuring safe transport for all passengers," emphasized the company's press service.
