Due to a series of explosions in the village of Berezyna near Zhytomyr, two individuals have lost their lives, and 15 others have been injured.

This was reported by Vitaliy Bunetko, the head of the Zhytomyr Regional State Administration, via Telegram.

«In the settlement of Berezyna, close to Zhytomyr along the international route M-06, two explosions occurred. Unfortunately, we can confirm the deaths of two people and 15 injuries», Bunetko stated.

He also mentioned that private homes have been affected by the explosions. An operational headquarters has been established at the scene. All relevant services are operational, providing assistance to the victims.

According to the Patrol Police of the Zhytomyr region, due to the emergency incident on the 126 km of the M-06 Kyiv — Chop road (near the village of Berezyna), traffic in both directions has been halted.

The Zhytomyr Regional Administration has urged residents to close their windows, limit outdoor activities, drink plenty of water, and turn on air purifiers.
