The organization “Ukrainian Women in Greece” participated in the cultural event “Refugee Week Greece”, which took place ahead of World Refugee Day celebrated on June 20.

“We celebrated World Refugee Day with warmth and love”, — stated the organization's representatives.

As part of Refugee Week Greece, an inclusive culinary event took place at the Myrtillo cafe in Athens, uniting different cultures.

Greek chef Isidora Antoniou and Ukrainian colleague Halyna Martynenko treated guests to traditional dishes from their homelands. The event served as a gathering point for taste, solidarity, and openness.

“Halyna offered her legendary meat and potato pies, which, according to her, carry love to everyone who tries them. She also prepared a traditional Ukrainian surprise dessert that became a delightful discovery for many guests”, — the publication states.

Isidora's baking and Halyna's pies created a warm family atmosphere — “where the language of taste transcends all borders”.

“This was an event about solidarity, taste, openness, and acceptance. Together — we are strong!”, — concluded the “Ukrainian Women in Greece”.

Earlier, the Foundation of the Ukrainian Community of Malta reported its participation in Refugee Week Malta.

In addition to showcasing Ukrainian culture, a central element was also the informational advocacy component focusing on the need to support the return of abducted Ukrainian children and prisoners.
