In honor of World Blood Donor Day, the company "Ukrposhta" has released a unique stamp titled "Chance for Life", dedicated to all who donate blood, as well as medical workers and volunteers.
"Together with the initiative DonorUA, we want to emphasize: you are the ones who keep hearts beating", – stated the company representatives.
Ukrposhta also reported that during the first week of the full-scale invasion, 25,000 new donors joined the DonorUA platform, and since 2022, the total number of donors has increased fivefold to 200,000.
"In the third year of war, when every drop counts, the need for donors remains high. Blood saves the lives of wounded soldiers, civilians, women in childbirth, cancer patients, and those with severe injuries. Sometimes this is the only chance for survival", – they added.
The new stamp "Chance for Life" is called a symbol of "a drop that becomes a sea, and kindness that turns into a chance."
"This is our expression of gratitude and an important reminder: your drop of blood can change someone's future. If you are healthy and willing to help, join us! Becoming a donor is easy, and it truly gives a chance for life", – said the CEO of Ukrposhta, Ihor Smiliansky.
The stamp features a couple holding a heart and filling it with blood. The illustration was created by Ukrainian artist Liza Markina.
The issue of blood donor shortages existed in Ukraine even before the full-scale war, but today it has become more acute than ever. Despite all medical advancements, there are still no full replacements for blood. Only we can share it with those in need", – emphasized DonorUA co-founder Iryna Slavinska.
The print run of the new stamp is 150,000 copies, with 20,000 "First Day" envelopes and 500 presentation folders.
The "Chance for Life" stamp can be purchased at Ukrposhta branches and on the company's website.
