On June 10, a concluding event for the project "Participatory planning of territorial community development" took place in Kyiv, where new proposals for enhancing methodological recommendations for community development strategies were discussed.

Deputy Minister for Community and Territorial Development of Ukraine, Oleksiy Ryabikin, attended the event and emphasized that new approaches will assist communities in formulating effective strategies linked to real resources and investment opportunities.

«A strategy is not just a document. It represents a vision, a set of goals, and decisions that should guide the community daily. We are already preparing medium-term public investment plans, which require the presence of strategies to attract funding.
We are currently implementing an information system for regional development, enabling communities and regions to monitor their dynamics, rely on data, and utilize unified tools. This will not only allow for planning but also for comparing one’s path with that of neighbors, as the development of one community cannot be separated from the overall progress of the country,» emphasized Oleksiy Ryabikin.

The updated methodological recommendations include:

• integration of strategic, investment, spatial, and budget planning focused on effective multi-level governance;
• development of inter-municipal cooperation;
• engagement of a broad range of local stakeholders, including external consultants, in strategic planning;
• integration of best local practices that can be scaled as universal recommendations;
• implementation of modern analytical tools, systematic data work, and the establishment of a results-oriented monitoring system.

The event served as a platform for dialogue among government, local authorities, experts, and international partners. The updates aim to implement a systematic approach to community development in the post-war period.
