During the NATO Ukraine Council meeting at the level of top military commanders held on Thursday, key security issues regarding Ukraine and ongoing assistance from allies were discussed.

This was reported by the Ukrainian mission to NATO.

Participating online was the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, General Oleksandr Syrskyi, who provided insights on Russia's strategic objectives in the ongoing conflict and outlined the current operational situation.

The General emphasized the critical need to enhance air defense systems, stressing that Ukraine requires additional aircraft, anti-aircraft missile systems, and radar stations.

He also pointed out the urgent need to supply Ukrainian forces with missiles and ammunition.

Syrskyi outlined the main priorities for military cooperation with NATO and the international community's peace efforts led by the United States.

He stressed the importance of a complete and unconditional ceasefire on land, sea, and air for at least 30 days to create space for diplomacy.

It is worth noting that from May 14-16 in Antalya, an informal meeting of NATO foreign ministers will take place.

The Ukrainian Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha has already arrived in Turkey, where NATO ministers are set to convene.
