Details: According to Vyhivskyi, the police responded to a call about a domestic dispute. The suspect, while trying to flee, threw a grenade at the police. The armed assailant was immediately apprehended.
Unfortunately, during medical assistance, Sergeant Maxim Ryzhko, who had recently become a father, died from his injuries. Three of his colleagues were hospitalized.
Direct quote: "Maxim left behind a daughter who will learn about his heroism in the years to come. Everyone who thinks that we should send all police officers to the front should ask themselves: who will you turn to for help in case of danger?"
Vyhivskyi also noted that many people in the country are armed, and the police are prepared to respond to any incidents. "Every day we handle thousands of similar calls, but no one knows what awaits police officers at the scene. We protect our citizens at the cost of our own lives," he added.
