Tragedy at Metro Station in Kyiv

On the evening of April 24, a tragic incident unfolded at the metro station "Khreshchatyk" in Kyiv, where a passenger was struck by a train. This led to changes in the operation of the metro's "red line". Reports later confirmed that the passenger had died.

According to the KMDA, the metro stations "University", "Theatrical", and "Khreshchatyk" were closed to incoming passengers due to the incident at "Khreshchatyk".

Train services were rerouted between the "Akademmistetko" and "Vokzalna" stations, as well as between "Arsenalna" and "Lisova" stations.

Additionally, a shuttle service was established between "Vokzalna" and "Theatrical" stations.

At 10:25 PM, it was reported that the passenger had succumbed to their injuries, and law enforcement is investigating the circumstances of the incident.

The metro station "Khreshchatyk" and the transfer hub "Khreshchatyk" – "Independence Square" have resumed operations.
