On Tuesday, April 1, the European Commission provided another financial tranche to Ukraine as part of the Ukraine Facility program.

This was confirmed by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, according to "European Pravda".

The amount transferred is 3.5 billion euros, which, according to Shmyhal, will assist Ukraine in maintaining macroeconomic stability.

"The European Commission acknowledged our commitment to reforms and integration into the EU," he stated.

In total, financial assistance under the Ukraine Facility program has reached 19.6 billion euros.

Minister of Economy Yulia Svyrydenko noted that from the received 3.5 billion euros: 3.1 billion are concessional loans, and 400 million are grants. These funds will cover essential budget expenditures.

She added that the financing was provided after Ukraine met all requirements of the Ukraine Plan for the fourth quarter of 2024, which includes 13 indicators such as harmonizing legislation and enhancing digital transformation.

"Last year, we achieved 36 indicators. For the first time in Ukraine's history, we met all the annual reform program indicators. Our goal for this year is even more ambitious – to meet 56," she added.

It is worth noting that in 2024, G7 approved a loan to Ukraine amounting to 50 billion dollars from Russian assets, with the funds being formally provided as a loan but repaid from the income generated by frozen Russian assets.

On March 20, the European Commission also transferred an additional tranche of 1 billion euros to Ukraine.

On the same day, European Commission Vice President Valdis Dombrovskis stated that the EU would continue to financially support Ukraine in 2025 from the profits of frozen Russian assets and under the Ukraine Facility plan.

The Ukraine Facility program, which came into effect on March 1, 2024, provides up to 50 billion euros in stable funding in the form of grants and loans to support the recovery, reconstruction, and modernization of Ukraine from 2024 to 2027.
