The expert committee, in collaboration with the European Investment Bank under the Ukraine Recovery Program III, has recommended funding for nine projects totaling 1.1 billion UAH. This was reported by the Ministry of Community and Territorial Development.
“Based on the results of the first meeting of the expert working group, several projects were excluded, while nine projects were recommended for implementation with a total funding of 1.1 billion UAH,” the statement says.
Four applications under the initiative “Barrier-Free Movement” in the Volyn and Ivano-Frankivsk regions, as well as five applications for the construction of kitchen factories for general education institutions in the Vinnytsia, Zaporizhia, Kyiv, Lviv, and Sumy regions were recommended for implementation.
These kitchen factories will provide over 50,000 standardized meals for children daily. Pilot projects are already being implemented in Bucha and Lozova (Kharkiv region) and are part of the school nutrition reform initiated by the First Lady.
The ministry noted that from September 11 to 30, communities had the opportunity to submit project proposals for recovery and development funding. They submitted 677 applications totaling 24.2 billion UAH.
About one-third of the applications, amounting to 8.6 billion UAH, concern heating, water supply, sewage systems, and distributed generation networks.
More than 120 applications are related to the construction of medical facilities (6.8 billion UAH) and nearly 140 for the establishment of shelters in communities, kindergartens, and hospitals (4.4 billion UAH).
Almost 130 projects relate to the completion of school and kindergarten constructions (2.3 billion UAH), the creation of kitchen factories for school meals (1 billion UAH), housing for internally displaced persons (0.15 billion UAH), as well as 44 projects concerning accessibility (0.85 billion UAH).
