The Lithuanian state company AB Energijos skirstymo operatorius, responsible for managing the country's distribution networks, is set to deliver over 200 power transformers of various capacities to Ukraine. This was announced by the Ministry of Energy.
The equipment is being transported through a humanitarian aid and civil protection mechanism funded by the European Commission (ECHO). It is anticipated that the humanitarian aid will arrive before the heating season begins.
"These transformers are critically needed for the rapid restoration of the electrical networks damaged by enemy attacks and to ensure stable electricity supply during wartime," emphasized Ukraine's Minister of Energy, Svitlana Hrynychuk.
According to the Ministry of Energy, since the beginning of the full-scale Russian invasion, Ukraine has received 324 humanitarian cargo shipments of energy equipment from Lithuania, totaling 5,247 tons.
As a reminder, in August 2025, Ukraine imported 14,500 tons of goods to support the recovery of its energy infrastructure, amounting to over 6.55 billion UAH. In September, the EU sent over 156,000 tons of humanitarian aid to Ukraine through the civil protection mechanism. This support includes energy equipment such as 9,342 generators, 6,917 transformers, and millions of energy-efficient LED lamps.
