Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky announced that the country is prepared to supply energy resources to Slovakia, provided they are not of Russian origin.
This statement was made during a press briefing following discussions with Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico in Transcarpathia, as reported by a Ukrinform correspondent.
"We talked with the Prime Minister of Slovakia about energy issues. We are ready to supply gas and oil to Slovakia – if it is not Russian gas or oil. Because we are at war. That is final" - stated Zelensky.
He also added that Ukraine is aware of various alternatives and projects and is ready to work in this direction.
"If it weren't for the difficulties with energy due to Russian attacks, we could have collaborated with Slovakia in this area. We had a surplus at any time of the year before the Russian strikes on our energy system. Without the attacks, we would have continued working" - Zelensky said.
He pointed out that Ukraine is currently responding to the Russian strikes on its energy facilities.
"And will continue to respond. But we want this war to end" - said Zelensky.
He added that no one is going to just endure the darkness.
Earlier, Ukrinform reported that the meeting between President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky and Slovak Prime Minister Robert Fico in Transcarpathia has concluded.
Prior to this, President Zelensky held a bilateral meeting with the President of the European Council, Charles Michel.
