New Funding for Affected Regions

The Cabinet of Ministers has approved the allocation of new funds for local budgets in regions affected by war, amounting to over 1.4 billion UAH for the second quarter of 2025.

This was reported by the Ministry of Finance of Ukraine.

According to the department, in particular:

  • 394.9 million UAH – for the Donetsk region budget and 90 territorial communities (compensation for lost income tax);
  • 441.9 million UAH – for 113 territorial communities (compensation for losses from property tax, land fees, and single tax);
  • 149.6 million UAH – for 77 territorial communities (compensation for losses from December 2024);
  • 3 million UAH – for the Kalchytska rural community budget (military state measures, social protection for IDPs);
  • 435 million UAH – for the Chernihiv region budget and 25 territorial communities (priority expenditures, including salaries and utility services).

This additional funding is directed to support local budgets of de-occupied and frontline territories that have suffered negative impacts due to the full-scale armed aggression by Russia against Ukraine, according to the Ministry of Finance.

The department also reminded that the budget for 2025 includes a program for additional grants from the state budget to local budgets of affected territories amounting to over 36.5 billion UAH, with quarterly distribution.
