From July 7 to 11, electricity imports to Ukraine doubled, reaching 44,000 MWh. Meanwhile, exports dropped to 32,200 MWh.
This information is reported by ExPro monitoring.
The highest import volumes are recorded during peak demand hours.
“Currently, imports during peak hours may exceed 1 GW, which is a significant contribution to stability. Under the current circumstances, imports could again become a critical component for the energy system during peak consumption hours,” analysts state.
They add that “the need for long-term forecasted imports emphasizes the importance of developing auctions for access to cross-border interconnections.”
