Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal and the President of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), Odile Renaud-Basso, signed an agreement aimed at supporting Ukraine's energy sector.

Shmyhal announced this on his Facebook page, according to reports.

The agreement involves the mobilization of 270 million euros under state guarantees, along with a grant of 140 million euros from the Norwegian government.

Shmyhal explained that this will enable Naftogaz of Ukraine to import significant volumes of natural gas in preparation for the upcoming heating season.

Since the onset of the full-scale war against Russia, the EBRD has allocated over 6 billion euros to Ukraine in the form of loans, grants, and guarantees.

Earlier, it was reported that the EBRD plans to invest at least 1.5 billion euros in 2025 to support Ukraine's economy during wartime.

Out of this amount, 1 billion euros is designated for supporting the energy sector.
