The government of Georgia, led by Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, has implemented new regulations that shorten the visa-free stay for Ukrainians in the country.

Details: On April 3, it was announced that the visa-free duration for Ukrainian citizens in Georgia has been reduced from three years to one.
"Ukrainian citizens are allowed to enter Georgia without a visa and reside within its territory for one full year," the document states.
Those Ukrainians who entered and stayed in Georgia before February 24, 2025, will have their stay extended until February 24, 2026.
Background: In February 2023, the Georgian authorities permitted Ukrainians to stay in the country visa-free for two years, and in April 2024, this term was extended to three years.
