Ukraine's Debt to International Creditors Surges in 2024

In 2024, Ukraine's debt to the World Bank group increased by 65%, reaching $22.6 billion.

This information is reported by Forbes Ukraine, referencing data from the Ministry of Finance.

The share of the World Bank group in the total public debt of Ukraine has reached 14%, while its role among external creditors stands at 19%.

The rapid growth of Ukraine's debt to the World Bank is attributed to many international partners channeling funding through this institution's funds, the publication notes.

The total debt to the International Monetary Fund has grown by 15% over the year to $18.9 billion.

Ukraine's debt to the EU has increased by 34% in 2024, reaching $44 billion, with the bloc's share in the state debt amounting to 34%.

As of November 30, 2024, the total public and publicly guaranteed debt of Ukraine was 6,644.68 billion UAH, equivalent to $159.74 billion.

The total public and publicly guaranteed debt of Ukraine increased by 1,461.3 billion UAH throughout 2024, which is $20.74 billion in dollar terms.
