In Wrocław, law enforcement has arrested seven officials from the local administration on corruption charges.

According to RMF FM, the arrested officials received bribes in exchange for registering vehicles in violation of the rules.

It has been established that they conducted at least a thousand illegal registrations.

This scheme operated for an extended period, encompassing the registration of cars without the required documents and the legalization of vehicles that should never have been allowed on the road, including ATVs.

Investigators found that the officials took money and gifts, including perfumes and other valuable items, for making unlawful decisions.

The total amount of illicit benefits has exceeded 100,000 zlotys. Additionally, the officials availed themselves of free services, including vehicle repairs.

According to investigators, this corruption scheme was a consistent source of income for the arrested individuals. They face up to 10 years in prison.

The investigation is ongoing, and new arrests are not ruled out.

The investigative actions are being carried out by the police's anti-corruption unit under the supervision of the Lower Silesian Prosecutor's Office.

It is worth noting that last autumn, an affray involving fake donations for a parish was uncovered in Poland.

In July, under the request of the European Prosecutor's Office, the first arrest was made in a case of fraud regarding the distribution of food funded by the EU for the needy and refugees.
