Vietnam has mobilized around 100,000 military personnel to evacuate 250,000 individuals due to the impending threat of Typhoon «Bualoy», which is intensifying and poses a danger to the country. This was reported by Al Jazeera.
Typhoon «Bualoy», the tenth of the year for Vietnam, is currently in the sea, generating winds of up to 130 km/h. Meteorologists predict it will make landfall late Sunday, September 28.
«This is a fast-moving storm, traveling nearly twice as fast as average speed, with high intensity and a broad area of impact. It may cause multiple natural disasters simultaneously, including strong winds, heavy rains, floods, flash floods, landslides, and coastal flooding,» the meteorological service reported.
Vietnam's Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh has called for «the highest level of preparedness» due to the approaching typhoon to the country's territorial waters.
In Da Nang, the largest city in central Vietnam, over 210,000 residents have been evacuated. In the coastal area of Hue, an additional 32,000 individuals are being relocated to safer locations.
In Ha Tinh province, a key steel production center, plans are in place to evacuate over 15,000 residents to schools and medical centers converted into temporary shelters.
According to VN Express, local authorities have mobilized more than 200 personnel, along with trucks, stones, sand, and other materials to reinforce the coastline.
Four domestic airports have been closed, and all fishing vessels in the typhoon's zone have been recalled to port. Residents in coastal areas have been instructed to secure their boats.
On Friday, September 26, Typhoon «Bualoy» hit the Philippines, causing landslides and floods. Local media report that 10 people have died, with another 10 missing.
