The Deputy Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Ihor Brusilo, held a coordinating meeting with experts focused on the African continent. This event marked a significant step towards establishing a permanent dialogue platform for discussing the development of relations between Ukraine and African nations.
Experts from leading analytical centers, academic institutions, diplomatic bodies, and NGOs specializing in African affairs participated in the meeting.
The main discussion point was the formulation of practical tools to advance Ukrainian interests in Africa through collaboration in political, economic, educational, and cultural sectors.
“We aim to strengthen ties between Ukraine and Africa, overcoming the challenges posed by Russian aggression and opening new avenues for mutually beneficial cooperation,” stated Ihor Brusilo.
During the meeting, participants discussed interactions with various regions of Africa, including the Sahel, West, East, Central, and North Africa, as well as partnerships with key continental nations and regional organizations like ECOWAS and the African Union.
Special attention was given to expanding Ukrainian business opportunities in Africa and establishing logistics hubs for the supply of Ukrainian goods. The prospects for applying Ukrainian strategies in information security and countering Russian propaganda in the region were also addressed.
Attendees included: the Director of the National Institute for Strategic Studies Oleksandr Bohomolov, President of the African Council in Ukraine Issa Sadio Diallo, Adviser to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Oleksandr Mishin, and experts from various analytical centers and universities.
