A military parade was held in the capital of the USA, celebrating the 250th anniversary of the US army.

This event coincided with Donald Trump's 79th birthday.

This was the first military parade in the USA in over thirty years.

Approximately 6,600 soldiers participated, along with around 150 military vehicles and over 50 aircraft and helicopters, as reported by Ukrinform.

Parade participants represented various historical periods of the US army - from the War of Independence to the modern era, showcasing appropriate uniforms and equipment.

Organizers prepared tanks such as the M1A1 Abrams, Bradley fighting vehicles, two WWII Sherman tanks, a Renault tank from WWI, CH-47 helicopters, 16 UH-60 Black Hawks, and four P-51 planes for the march.

Preliminary estimates suggest the parade will cost up to $45 million.

However, critics of the current administration claim the costs could reach $90 million when including additional expenses.

Protests occurred across the USA under the slogan 'No Kings'.

Participants voiced their opposition both to the policies of the current administration and to the military parade as a symbol of authoritarianism, notes Ukrinform's correspondent.

Demonstrations took place in Atlanta, Austin, Boston, Baltimore, Chicago, Dallas, Denver, New York, Houston, and Seattle.

Washington itself did not see protests, as Trump warned protesters the night before that they would face 'great force' if they disrupted the parade.
