On Friday evening, Iran launched a barrage of ballistic missiles targeting sites in Israel.

«Powerful explosions can be heard in Israel»,- reported CNN journalists from the scene.

The Times of Israel reports three fatalities and numerous injuries.

Iran's Attack on Israel: Consequences

Throughout the night, Israeli military forces warned of multiple attack waves.

According to the Israeli emergency service, one of the Iranian missiles struck a residential area in Rishon Lezion, south of Tel Aviv.

In Ramat Gan, near Tel Aviv, buildings were destroyed due to the Iranian strikes.

Tel Aviv also came under fire.

Fox News reported that Iran targeted the headquarters of the Israeli Defense Forces.

«This is Israel's equivalent of the Pentagon - «Kiryat». The building in this complex has just been hit», the journalist noted during a live broadcast from Tel Aviv, as reported by Ukrinform.

The correspondent stated that the attack caused significant destruction.

Despite Israel's extensive use of air defense systems such as «Iron Dome», David's Sling, Arrow, Patriot, and THAAD, some Iranian missiles still reached their targets.

As a result of the launch of about 150 missiles from Iran, a whole district in the Israeli capital was «almost completely destroyed», reported a media source.

Clash Report published a video showing one of the Iranian missiles hitting a skyscraper in central Tel Aviv.

Israel's Response to Iran's Attack

On the night of June 13, Israel struck back at Iran.

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced the start of a large-scale military operation named «Rising Lion».

The Israel Defense Forces referred to this as «preventive strikes» aimed at Iran's nuclear program.

IDF deployed 200 fighter jets to attack over a hundred targets. Explosions were reported, particularly in the vicinity of the Iranian uranium enrichment facility in Natanz and in the capital Tehran.

Reports indicate that among the casualties were the commander of the Revolutionary Guard Corps, Hossein Salami, the Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Mohammad Bagheri, along with several other high-ranking IRGC officers and nuclear scientists.

Iran termed this an «announcement of war» and retaliated by launching over a hundred drones toward Israel.

The United States asserts that it was not involved in the Israeli strikes against Iran. Secretary of State Marco Rubio emphasized that Israel's attacks were unilateral, although the U.S. had information about Israel's plans. Rubio stated that the main priority for the U.S. is the protection of American forces in the region.
