French President Emmanuel Macron stated that peace negotiations between Ukraine and Russia can only commence with a clear agreement on an unconditional 30-day ceasefire starting May 12.

Details: The French president reminded that in Kyiv, leaders of the "Coalition of the Determined" alongside US President Donald Trump "put forward a clear proposal" for an unconditional 30-day ceasefire beginning on Monday.

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky committed to this without any conditions.

According to Macron, "we expect a similarly clear response from Russia".
