European Commissioner for Defense Andrius Kubilius stated that denying Ukraine NATO membership would only facilitate Russia's planning of future aggressive actions.
Kubilius shared this view on social media, as reported by "European Truth".
He emphasized that Russia opposes Ukraine's NATO membership not out of fear of an attack from the Alliance, but due to the concern that NATO would protect Ukraine from further Russian aggression.
He further noted that the absence of NATO membership simplifies Russia's planning for its subsequent aggressive actions.
Recently, Donald Trump reiterated his earlier claims that Ukraine supposedly provoked the war by seeking NATO membership.
Additionally, media outlets reported that the Trump administration handed Ukraine a document in Paris, considered as the "final proposal" for peace negotiations, which includes recognizing Russia's control over Crimea and easing sanctions.
President Volodymyr Zelensky stated on April 24 that the US proposed its strategy regarding Ukrainian territories during talks in London, but afterward, another document emerged.
